Websites That Increase Backlinks and Increase Website Traffic

When you've finished your website or even your article that you just recently published. The next step is to start setting up avenues that will help you increase your website traffic. There are many ways to start sending traffic to your article or website, one of the most common methods of increasing traffic is to submit your article to social media sites like twitter, facebook, myspace, and digg.

Once you submit the web address to social media sites like twitter etc, you will be releasing your article to thousands of people that could potentially click and read your article. You will also benefit from the external backlink that you created that sends traffic to your article. When you create backlinks to websites it helps people find your website faster, and you may also increase your pagerank once google finds your website to become more relevant.

There are tons of websites out there that offer backlink services that can skyrocket your website traffic.  Many of them do what they promise, because they have the ability to give you tons of backlinks with high pageranks.

There are other important factors that play a role in determining your rank on the search engines.  Google ranks websites based on the keyword relevance of a website, this means that the keywords that you use in your article or website should be consistent and related to one another.  Generally it is important to mention your primary keywords a few times in each article, and also make sure that they are related to the meta tags that are being used in your title. 

Make sure you do not use the same keywords too often as google could penalize you for keyword spamming. The term keyword spamming is referred to as excessive use of similar keywords, when google sees that you are using keywords excessively you will be excluded from the high ranking search results.  Google does this because keyword spamming is considered to be an attempt to outsmart or trick the search engines for the sake of getting additional traffic.  But don't worry, if you write an article as you normally would and avoid being too repetitive with certain keywords, you shouldn't have a problem.  A good rule of thumb is to use your keyword  or keyword phrase once for every 50- 100 words.  You want to make sure that your keyword density does not exceed 5%.

There are many websites out there that have a high alexa ranking. You can find out what sites have a high alexa rating by using the Mozilla Firefox Internet browser and downloading the free plugin called "Search Status". When you download this plugin, you will see two bars on the lower right hand side of your browser screen. The two bars will show you how high a websites rank is based on its Alexa Rating and its Pagerank rating.

What you want to do is search for websites that have a high alexa rating, and set up an inbound link on that website that directs traffic to your website or article that you are trying to promote. When I first started doing Search Engine Optimization, I increased my website traffic substantially when I setup back links to articles that I wrote. I discovered a great website that has a very high Alexa ranking - "Linkmommy" is ranked 80,000 out of a billion websites on Alexa. This was great news because Linkmommy is a very high traffic website, which means it is capable of bringing lots of traffic to articles. Furthermore, the website advertises your links for you, and by setting up your link on "Linkmommy", google will find your website more relevant and will rank you higher in the search engines.
